I plug in my iPhone 13 mini and go to This PC and below my other drives I see Apple iPhone. I click on that, and then on Internal Storage, and I see many directories containing photos. I can open any one of them just fine in Opus. I can linger with the mouse on a jpg and the viewer opens the file. I can copy a single file from that folder to a folder on my PC using Opus. But if I try and drag a large group of them, let's say 160 MB worth, nothing happens.
However if I open Explorer and do the same thing I can easily copy them from the explorer window to the same folder in my Opus screen just fine.
I am using Opus 13.10. The same problem occurred with Opus 12.
I am running a brand new PC with current win11Pro with 32 GB of memory. I have an older win10Pro machine with 24 GB of memory and it has the same issue. Large scale copying of files in Opus fails, but works just fine in Explorer.
Thank you for the extended reply. All my Opus, Win11, and iPhone are up to date. The cable/port isn't the issue since as I said this happened on a different PC running Win10 and happened in Opus back in v12. Also, the transfer works fine if I open Explorer.
I tried your suggestion of toggling **Preferences / Miscellaneous / Advanced: mtp_enable. With it disabled, once I click on the iPhone folder it automatically opens Explore and that works well. So, not the perfect solution but a very workable one.
Thank you for the education and prompt (as always) reply.
The MTP protocol doesn't handle multiple transfers very well and gets quickly overwhelmed when asked to copy entire folders.
You could try CopyRecreatePath which creates separate Copy statements for all selected files. This might make things a bit easier for the connection. You can easily use Flatview if you need to copy multiple folders. Subfolders will be recreated as well.
