Here's the scenario. I'm in the lister that launches when I click Windows + E. It has two displays and multiple tabs.
If I select, say, the third tab in each display then use the basic Set as Default Lister menu item, then when I close the lister and reopen it via Windows E, the lister opens on the third tabs. Great. The selected tabs were saved.
But if I put either of these in a button:
Prefs SETDEFAULTLISTER=force
Prefs SETDEFAULTLISTER=quiet
The selected tabs are not saved. I reopen via Windows E, and the old tabs are selected. In the case of "force", there a dialog lets me know that the layout is saved, but still the selected tabs are not saved.
Some of my Prefs:
Launching Opus / Default Lister: the two boxes are unchecked.
Explorer Replacement is set for all file system folders
So, is it correct that the raw command
Prefs SETDEFAULTLISTER
saves selected tabs, but that the same command with the force or quiet arguments does not?
SOLVED:
The problem has to do with the shortcut used with the command.
I just realized that when I select the command manually from the menu, the tabs are saved.
They are not saved when I use the shortcut I set, which is Win + Alt + Shift + S.
The Alt and Shift must be changing something about the action (I had this problem with another shortcut some time ago).
I will change the shortcut.
Wishing you all a relaxing day.
Do Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S and Ctrl+Shift+P not work at all or do they run the command but not have the full effect you want? (The command might have a different meaning if the Shift key is held down, perhaps.)
Do those hotkeys work with other commands? e.g. If you bind them to "Help ABOUT" does the About window open? (If not, you may have another program which has taken over those hotkeys system-wide.)
