I have a directory that contains some video files and pictures, and then I need the lister to show the data rate and duration for the video files so that I turn on the movie plugin to load the information of the video files.
Simultaneously, I need the viewer pane to preview the pictures. In this condition, if I select a video file, the movie plugin will load the video and cause some latency effort. Even if I turned off "automatically play movies" that is no help.
Is there any way to prevent the movie plugin from loading the video for the viewer pane?

There isn't currently a way to enable the movie plugin's metadata but disable its playback.
You can use alternative columns for some video metadata, but I don't think they include data rate.
