Preview Open Office documents

Hi, my problem is how to preview Open Office documents in the preview window, it´s only shown as hex/text, although all plugins are activated, the activex in Internet explorer shows odt and ods properly without problems. What is wrong ?
OS Vista SP1
Dopus 9.1.1.1
Open office 3.0 RC1

You haven't searched the forums...

There are a number of threads explaining this.

If you can view Open Office files in IE then configure the ActiveX plugin in Opus to add the .odt and .ods extensions under "Internet Explorer".

Does Open Office come with that IE plug-in now or is it something you had to install separately? Whenever I try to find information about the Open Office ActiveX stuff on their site/forum I only seem to find out-of-date information.

Dear Steve, I did search the forums but didn´t find any answers for my problem, because (as I wrote) the activex for open office files is working in Internet explorer, but not in Dopus.
The filetypes ods and odt are shown in the activex-preview-office-web-plugin configuration menu, I accidentally tried to open a 0 byte odt file, the activex started (SOActivex class), but naturally didn´t show anything, a working odt file doesn´t start the activex.
I can preview the files with the multiview-plugin, but that isn´t as comfortable and has some inconvenient issues (f.e. adding empty pages before the original page).

Hi Leo, I can´t add extensions under Internet explorer because the "add" button is greyed out. I believe, it is generally impossible to add extensions for any plugin for me, I removed odt and ods from common activex extension list for to use the multiview plugin (this did work), but couldn´t add these extensions back again.
The IE-plugin is included in the Oo installation, it is not possible to install it separately, the only way is to run setup and change installation if it is not installed, but that can happen only when you deactivate optional com ponents while installing Oo.

In the plugin configuration you have to type the extension and then click Add. The Add button will be disabled if you haven't typed anything yet.

Thank you, everything´s working now. Sorry for my stupidity, sometimes the most simple things are the most difficult. I didn´t notice the input area below the extension list due to the low contrast of my "wonderful" vista layout.

Thanks for the info kayaho. I had another look at Open Office and I see that the ActiveX Control does come with it, but it's excluded from the default install.

To help other people I've added a note to the Opus ActiveX plugin's pages about how to install the OO ActiveX Control and how to set the plugin to use it.
