I'm not able to send files directly from Directory Opus. I try it with GMX and Outlook.cm and I get these messages:
Am I making something wrong?
The SMTP client built into Opus is very simple and I don't know that it supports TLS. (Maybe we should remove it, but it can still be useful with ISP servers that don't need TLS.) Try one of the other options or send the email via your normal email tool/site.

Possible, but it still works great with Mozilla Thunderbird and switching to mailto: emulation
