"Protected" folders

Hi,

I have several partitions on my laptop and I use an app that colors all of the folders on each drive a different color. It does this by writing a 'desktop.ini" file to each folder. Which means that all of my folders - except those on the C: drive - have a desktop.ini file in them - even if they're otherwise empty.

The problem is that anytime I delete a "colored" folder DOpus "protects" me by popping up a warning that says: "Folder XYZ is protected against deletion"

I've searched unsuccessfully in options for a box to uncheck. How can I disable this unhelpful behavoir?

Turn on Prefs / File Operations / Deleting Files: Delete read-only files automatically (without asking).

(If you don't want it on globally you can also create a special delete button which ignores the read-only attributes without affecting other buttons etc.)

Note that that option may not apply when deleting to the recycle bin. (When deleting to the recycle bin, it's largely up to the Windows shell (Explorer) what happens. Not sure if Opus can/will tell the shell to ignore read-only attributes but it definitely can when deleting the files directly.)

Hi Leo,

Thanks, that fixed it.
