PSD preview in list view but not in preview panel

Hello,

I have a question concerning the preview of Photoshop psd files.

In Photoshop I have set Image Previews to Always and the Compatibility option to Never.

When moving the mouse over a psd file in list view, in most cases the preview image is displayed. But in the viewer very often the image is scrambled. Using ArdfryPSD makes no difference.
I assume there is another thumbnail ressource used in the viewer than what is used in the list view. Is it possible to have Opus use the same thumbnail ressource for the viewer than what is used in list view?

If I set the Compatibility option in Photoshop to Always then it also works in the viewer but I would like to avoid that because of much larger file sizes.

Kind regards,
Steffen

Can you post an example of a "scrambled" image?

Oh, sure.

Some versions of Photoshop have a bug where they sometimes save garbage into the full-size preview image. There's no reliable way to detect that the preview image is garbage, that we know of, so we just display what is in the file. The issue is on the Photoshop side rather than our side, and the problem is baked into the files which exhibit it. Re-saving them in a newer version of Photoshop may fix them.

You can configure Opus to always use the smaller thumbnail image, including in the viewer pane, but it will often be quite small:

I indeed use an older version of Photoshop.
Many thanks for your help! Great!
