I very often using moving big files from different directories from one harddisk to another (only files, not directories). After move file I delete empty directory from source harddisk. Now I cannot do it using queue, because only copy/move operations allow queuing. So I must wait until all files are copied anyway to delete empty directories that left.
Is possible that add Delete to queue in next beta? Operation "move file / delete directory / move file / delete directory..." will be very useful.
Oh, you're not the only one who begin that. I even reply giving an example, when someone of Opus crew ask "when it may be useful", but my post was delete then (don't know why, not important). Now I give this example again, because I'm using "move big files & delete directory" so many times that starts to be annoying.
I prefer no. My personal experience was not always good and I really like that small privacy I have. I just don't want to see that my code becomes blacklisted only because some of GPSoft crew says that any of my opinion was not so nice. I hope it's fair enough.
We would never blacklist a licence code because of a forum post. Never have and never will. The most we'd do is ban an account from the forum (not from using the software) and that only happens about once a year. It takes a lot to get banned here. So far, we have never banned a linked account from the forum (it'd take a hell of a lot for us to be moved to do that) and even if we did the software would still be usable.
OTOH, if you don't link your account then we're much less likely to pay attention to your posts as we don't know if you're a paying customer or not. Your choice, but I can't see what the advantage is in not linking.
Can't have been that one. I checked the forum logs and there's only one deleted thread/post with "queue" or "queues" in the name, and it's from Jan 2011, a few months before Opus 10 & the queue functionality were released.
Maybe the post didn't actually submit properly? It's happened before and people thought we were deleting things. But if it was deleted it would've been for a good reason, not just because we didn't like an idea. (Unless someone just messed up and clicked the wrong button, which does happen occasionally (e.g. deleting a thread instead of a post, which can't be undone), but would show up in the log too.)
I'm paying customer, I even recommend Opus to 2 other friends who buy Opus, but that is not important right now.
Maybe my post was deleted by accident, that is not important. I just don't want to put the same post again right after delete because that's not nice.
The main reason of this topic is to encourage you to expand the queue. I give an example why it's not only useful in slow operations. Queue is queue - all operations should be queued.
