Quick Search behavior

The Quick Search box on the Menu toolbar has some non-standard behavior that is different from Windows Explorer:

  1. After you have typed in something to perform a search, using the back button clears the Search box (which is expected) but using the back button on my mouse doesn't. Can you make it so that pressing the back button on the mouse will also clear the Search box?

  2. When a Search is performed, leaving focus of the Dopus window and switching back doesn't set the mouse focus back on the Search box, even though I purposely left the cursor there. It always soft focuses on the first item in the result. If there's no result, it still doesn't refocus on the Search box. Please make it so that it refocuses on the Search box and also highlight/select whatever that was typed in the Search box so that if I start typing, it will erase the last search text and I don't have to re-select the text to change it. This behavior will make it consistent with the Search box on Windows Explorer.

  1. Already works that way here. Does anything happen at all when you push Back? It should change folders which in turn will clear the search field. Try clicking the file display first if it doesn't work while the search field still has focus (either works for me, but it may depend on the mouse drivers).

  2. That change probably make sense, depending on what's involved behind the scenes. I'll add it to our list. (Note that you can push F3 to quickly give focus back to the search field, for now.)

  1. It only clears the box if mouse focus is not in it, which explains the clearing of the box if you click on the back button. But if the cursor is left in the box when the mouse back button is pressed, it doesn't clear the box even though the folder contents change. This probably has something to do with my 2nd request below and will probably get fixed once that's done.

  2. Thanks.

  1. For me, the mouse's Back button goes back and clears the search field even when focus is still on the search field. It may depend on where the mouse drivers choose to send the Back key to, however. There is some inconsistency here between drivers.
