Just curious, I use a camera a lot so when I connect it to the pc it does show up under the folder tree. But is there a way to map it so it will show up in my drive tool bar. My USB back up drives do and of course assigns a letter to them. But the camera does not. It only shows a folder with the camera model number under the tree. Thank for any advice.
You will probably need to change the settings in your camera so it identifies as a drive. That's often called something like "mass storage". Now it's probably set to "MTP".
Hummm.... don't see anything in the settings or manual about it (Nikon D3300). But Dopus recognizes it because the folder shows up in the tree, just not on the drive toolbar.
I found this:
Please note that COOLPIX models released after August 2007 and DSLR release after D60, no longer have the Mass Storage option.
I am afraid your only option is to put the memory card into a USB card reader if you want to avoid MTP/PTP. I know, that's a hassle, but it's potentially a lot faster.
Thanks, I appreciate the info.
It still works by just clicking on the folder in the tree. Just was hoping to get it on the toolbar too. No biggie.
Create a button on the toolbar next to the drives which shows the folder.
If you make a button which runs Go DRIVEBUTTONS=mtp
, it will automatically list MTP devices when they are present, assuming the camera is mounting via MTP.
