Is there a way to rename a list of files by removing columns? Removing the 'nth' column of characters in file names would be great. Even just removing the leftmost column would help. I'm running the latest version on Win10.

There are a few ways you can do that, but the easiest is to edit one of the files in the preview list, and all the other files will be edited at the same time (as long as the macro option above the list is on):
