For the File Command, Rename (the advanced one that has the Find and Replace option) is there a way to get Find & Replace to be the default ?
that is about the only mode i use that in and it is tiresome to set over and over, half the time i forget and then have to repeat the whole thing

I see a canned Rename function to change underscores to spaces, i often want the reverse, spaces to underscores, how can i do that ?

i have a program that does not play nice with filenames that have dot characters in the base name, i would like to be able to change in selected files all dot characters to underscore EXCEPT of course the final dot character which delimits the file extension
You can either have a button which runs the Rename command where all the arguments specify what you want to do, or have a Rename preset which is defined in the Rename dialog and then referred to from the button.
If you're using Opus 12 and the updated default toolbars, then any Rename presets which you create will automatically appear in the menu that is attached to the Rename button. Default toolbars from older versions had separate, standalone commands for select actions in the same menu instead.
