Is it possible to rename a tab but still see current folder name?
For example, if you are at "C:\Programs\Opus\Config" you will see "Config" as the name of the tab, but it would be good to know what is that "Config" about.
You can rename the tab to "Opus - Config" but then if you move to "C:\Programs\Opus\Images" you will still see "Opus - Config" on the tab, whereas I would like to see "Opus - Images".
It would be great if you could set the tab name to, say "Opus - %D", where %D is the current folder name.
Hmmm... I might use something like this in my work with multiple media related folders. I already use the current static tab naming feature in that work - mainly because it involves several external drives, and I like to be able to tell if I'm dealing with drive D, E, F, or G during the course of my work. However, I do indeed change folders, and miss the quick glance at the folder tab to remember which folder I'm currently in. So I think I'd use this as well to help with that.
Someone else recently also described a scenario where they have the same series of folder structures underneath specific project folders or some such. So that's another use case where something like this could be beneficial where you want it makes sense to have the at-a-glance orientation provided by BOTH a static name AND current folder name that we otherwise have now as separate possible options - just joined together.
+1
SIDE NOTE: a request was recently made to allow the lister title bar to bet to a user defined name... I think it could be useful to be able to use a similar ability requested HERE, in THAT case as well...?
I'd even like a variable for the drive letter... maybe %D = drive letter, and %F for folder name? Either way... I could see it being useful in ~some cases.
Yes thanks for this feature, I also need it all the time! In fact I wouldn't even notice it's there from the changelog, but Leo's video showed it - thanks for that too!
Ditto... I'm using it more often than I even thought I might. It's just a nice nuance of a feature that helps quicker at a glance orientation of where I'm at when I have many tabs open.
