Renaming CR3 file issues

I got a new camera over the weekend and I am having a problem with the renaming....

The script worked fine with my CR2 files on my Canon 5diV camera. The end result would be Series22_0001.cr2 and Series22_0001.xmp and it would be fine.

This new camera, a Canon R5, does not work like that. The shootingtime part yields nothing and when I put the check mark next to rename matching filenames as one shows the original name.

I basically want it to be Series(2 digit year the photo was taken)_sequential number.

Any ideas on how I can get this to work?

Thanks

Did you enter the wrong subject for the thread? It seems unrelated.

Does Opus see any shooting time data for those files? (For example, try adding the file display column.) It may simply not know how to extract the metadata from them if they are in a new format.

Try datetaken instead of shootingtime.

Sorry i had a subject line in there for a draft and forgot to change it... fixed it.

As for shooting time, i dont see that as an option for a column

That does not do anything either. I added the column for date taken and it shows nothing.

I can use Createddate but that may not always work. Especially if the files get moved around before I do a rename. It is not reading it from the Exif data. For now it will work as i have something like 23,000 files to rename.

Yes, sorry. .cr3 files are different. None of Opus' keywords reflect this date. You need to use ExifTool for this.

Never used ExifTool before... does it integrate into DO? and if installed, will it allow me to rename my files including the xmp sidecar files? and once I edit i will have .cr3.dop extensions as well.

Are there plans for DO to be able to read exif data from CR3 files?
