Request - Configurable grouping of files vs. folders

At the moment you can specify:

  • Files before folders
  • Folders before files
  • Mixed

However, I'd really like the ability to select whether specific items go in the 'folder section' or the 'filename section'.

An example would be: If file ends with ".cloudf", treat it as a folder and include it in the folder list.

The reason for this, is that I use odrive.com/ to manage all my cloud storage, and it uses placeholder files for folders you haven't synced.

So in the following example it would be fantastic if the .cloudf folders could be in the 'folder section' with the other folders.

I think the only way to do it (short of writing a VFS plugin that makes them look like real folders, which would be a huge amount of work) would be to have a script column that generates the sort order you want, then sort by that column.

OK great, I'll go down the special column route for now. Out of interest, can you sort by a column that is not shown?

Please consider adding some wildcards or similar for "Put these files in the folder section" and "Put these folders in the file section".

You can group by columns which aren't shown, but sorting requires them to be shown.
