Restore Last Open Tabs DO Version 12.7

I am having trouble getting my 'Last Open Tabs' to remain when I shut down. I have done a great bit of research, but cannot get anything to work. I do have the OPEN THE LISTERS THAT WERE OPEN WHEN THE PROGRAM WAS LAST CLOSED marked along with INCLUDE VIRTUAL FOLDERS (AS WELL AS FILESYSTEM FOLDERS) checked although I don't understand the virtual folders part.

What am I missing? I can only assume I have checked/unchecked something that is counteracting this part.

Thank you!

Kim

Is Preferences / Launching Opus / Default Lister / Update Default Lister automatically when closing a Lister also turned on?

What are you doing exactly, and what happens vs what you expect? Are you closing a window and then opening a new one? Exiting the program and restarting it? Rebooting the PC? (While windows are still open, or after closing them?)

It is checked, yes, along with Always in Same Position on the same screen.

I am in Dual Display with Dual Folder Tree. I am use to working between 4+ tabs in each display. While working in it (for example) yesterday, I finish up and hit the "X" to close DO, come back today and open DO it returns to a saved lister I did whereas I was trying to replicate the multiple tabs. So YES, exiting the program at night or throughout the day if putting laptop to 'sleep', YES, restarting it if needed or definitely upon restarting the laptop, and definitely close all windows prior to rebooting/shutting down. Hope this helps.

Closing the window doesn't normally exit the program (unless Preferences / Launching Opus / Startup / Shutdown Directory Opus when the last Lister closes is turned on, or when using Opus Light).

When you open a new window, what do you do? e.g. What do you click on to open it?

No, that isn't checked. I use the "X" at the upper RT corner to exit the program. I read in your Manual it is best to keep the program running in the background so not to use the File - Exit Directory Opus option.

If I'm opening a new window (I'm assuming you are talking about tab) then I hit the "+" to do so. I have it set up to copy the last folder location so that doesn't bother me. What I want is when I have these multiple tabs up and I "X" out of DO, is to be able to open DO (by clicking the Opus icon in my Taskbar next to the clock) and it resumes as if I never "X" out.

What do you have selected under Preferences / Launching Opus / From the Taskbar icon?

It should be open the Default Lister in this case.

Yes, it is.

Leo, please see attached

print screens I did. I hope it'll help. I have numbered them in order.

Okay, they are not in order. I had them in a Word & PDF file in order, but yall don't accept those uploads. Then I saved them in numerical order, but they didn't come out like that above. I have no idea if the pics will help or not now!!!

I re-ordered the images for you, and I think I see where the confusion is coming from.

That isn't the Opus icon. That's some kind of cloud storage program by the look of it. Double-clicking that probably opens the folder for the cloud storage program. If Opus is in Explorer Replacement mode then it will open that folder in Opus, but it's not what you want to use if you just want to open the default lister instead of opening the cloud storage folder.

Wow! See, I told you it was probably something simple I messed up.

For anyone else having this issue, after LEO mentioned this, I went into the Control Panel --> Select Which Icons & Notifications Appear on Taskbar and changed Directory Opus to SHOW ICONS AND NOTIFICATIONS. Once I did this, DO icon appears near the clock . I double-clicked it and now the last tabs open when closing DO appears.

Thanks so much for your help and sorry for the trouble. I absolutely love Directory Opus and pCloud (icon you saw that I was clicking). These are two programs I can't do without. I will make sure I open DO first in the future vs pCloud (by accident).
