I have a very weird problem.
I select a file. I right click.
It should bring up context menu.
Instead it brings up an install of a program already installed and that I have never used.
I cancel the install and then the menu comes up.
The same behavior occurs when I click the file menu.
I don't know if this is a DOpus problem or a virus of some kind.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

OK, what is the program ?
Do attempts at uninstalling the program help ?
Have you run an anti-virus program ?
Do you have error messages when you start the computer ?
Does your computer run slower now than it did before this problem ?
Also:
Is your e-mail inbox insane with returned messaages sent to other nations that you did not send ?
Did an anti-virus program return these messages?

Hi:
Antivirus run with no problems.
I have narrowed maters down to an item in the services tab of msconfig.
First I went into msconfig and turned off all the items in startup. That didn't help.
But, in Safe Mode, the problem goes away.
I have turned off a few services and the problem seems to be fixed. I still need to figure out which one and why it has gone haywire.
I had noticed some slowdown in copying files between the 2 external drives. This machine has a very large amount of storage, about 1.3 terabytes. That seems to be fixed as well.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Does the same thing happens in Explorer?
Hi:
A good question. I don't know.
I have to run around today, but I'll give it a try tomorrow and let you know.
The current behavior is acceptable for the moment.
And in 3 months I'll install Vista which will replace all the current services and should really fix the problem.
