Sandisk U3 Problem

Hope someone can help. I have just updated launchpad on my Sandisk U3 drive. Now when I try to export my Dopus installation on to it, Dopus no longer reconizes the drive as a U3 device. Can anyone help on this issue?

Do any other installers recognise the device properly or is it just the opus one ?

U3 lanchpad runs and I can install and run u3p files. If I use a different u3 drive (no my own) and create the Dopus u3 installation package, I can install it on my drive, but obviously it will not run due to licencing.

The only problem appears getting Dopus to recognize the drive to create the U3 package.

Just noticed the old version of launchpad showed up as

U3 SYSTEM with CDFS

Whereas the new launchpad version 1.6.1.1 shows up as

REMOVABLE DISK with FAT

I believe this is a compatibility fix for Vista. I have tried removing U3 then reinstalling it, with the same results.

1.4.0.2 is the latest version that is offered for my Disgo U3 stick so I cannot try with 1.6.1.1, but are you sure you're looking at the right drive letter regarding the names and file systems?

U3 devices normally have two drive letters. One has fixed label "U3 SYSTEM", type "CD Drie" and file system "CDFS" while the other has an editable lable, type "Removable Disk" and file system "FAT".

If there's only one drive letter for your U3 device then the 1.6.1.1 upgrade must have changed things quite substantially.

The sandisk has 2 drive letters,

E Removable disk (this is the main storage disk) FAT
G Removable disk (this is the small "system" part) FAT

Neither is CDFS anymore.

Forgot to say, G has a fixed label, whereas E is editable.

Managed to fix the problem. Instead of running the installer from there download site "LPInstaller.exe", I installed launchpad from the following site

u3.sandisk.com/download/lp_installer.asp

This uses an activeX component to install launchpad 1.6.1.1.

Now I have drive E FAT32 data partition and drive U CDFS system partition. Seems the independent installer messed my drive up some how.
