Save Real Time filter

Really tried to figure it out myself...

Each time when I close DO and relaunch it, the Real Time Filtering is untagged, whereas it was tagged prior to closing.

How and where do I have to set what to get realtime filtering on by default.

Tracd the below in the help-file but am a bit ashamed :blush: to say I am not really sure what it says, specifically where
it says 'by editing the field'
what field, where ?

appreciate hints...

The field remembers its settings when a Lister containing it is saved (in Lister Layouts, for example).
You can specify the default filter modes by editing the field and specifying the following keywords in the Args field of the button editor:

• files – show only matching files (the default is both files and folders)
• folders – show only matching folders
• hide – hide matching items rather than showing them
• realtime – filter in real-time
• nopartial – no partial matching
• local – enable View Filter mode

What I meant is to have the RealTimeFilter tagged by default.

Oh, got ya. That's covered earlier on in the FAQ. You need to edit the filter box and add "realtime" to its Args, similar to what's shown in the screenshot.

I was looking at the FAQ->Automatic/Saved Filters part only and one way or the other looked over
that I had to go into 'customize mode', (a few paras earlier) so I spent quite some time on trying
to find a solution another way, i.e. outside 'customize', meaning right-click the filter box, or
select preferences, etc.

Maybe adding a few words (click on Customize, Right click on the filter, etc.) to the help-file might
help :wink:
