Scrolling inactive file pane with mouse wheel

Hej there,

running 13.11.3 and having a annoying bug(?)

if for example the left pane is active and I scroll through a longer file list in the inactive pane by using the mouse wheel it jumps the the last select file on the right side after it's going to be active.

It would be much nicer, if the right would only jumps to that selected file after you press aroow up/down.

greets Karsten

That is already how it should work.

The scrollwheel by itself would not normally activate the other side.

Have you turned on single-click (point to select) mode?

Or the option to activate a side by hovering the mouse over it?

Or are you using AHK or a similar tool that might change what the mousewheel does over some windows/programs?

Just remembered there’s also this in recent versions:

Preferences / File Displays / Mouse / Mouse wheel to switch source/destination state

Is that turned on? If so, does the problem still happen if it’s off?

This setting is turnded off, what's my preferred setting. Lister pane shouldnt be activated by hovering with mouse on it, single click also isn't activated.

Actually it seems like that this behaviour only occurs by having a opane of the left side active and scroll inside the deactivated pane on the right side, and then click.

the clicked file/folder will be selected, then right pane scrolls fast to that file/folder being activated before, a thin rectangel surronding the name. The actually clicked file/folder lost it's selection and another file/folder will be selected, which is below mous-Arrow right now

Screenshots or a video might help here. I’m not sure which panels you mean since the panels/layout are configurable and left/right isn’t enough to identify the type of panel.

Hej Leo,

did my best ...

things to mention, not sure if it's important:

  • right side "~sorted" is a subfolder of left side "PC All"
  • on left side a filter is defined
