I'd like to be able to define search presets, such as if I'm searching for a song, I can select a preset to search d:\music and d:\ost, or if I'm searching images, I can select a preset for d:\photos, d:\vacation, etc.
I can't figure out a way to do this in DOpus9. It seems almost as if this is a function no one has ever thought of. Does anyone know how to do this?
What do you want the preset to do exactly?
You can make buttons which will search a particular path with a fixed search criteria, or with one that you type into a window that will appear (but only for quite simple searches unless you put your search criteria into a saved Filter and always use that).
You can also save Layouts or Styles with the Find panel turned on and the appropriate directory showing, so that you can recall the Layout/Style and then set up the remaining parts of the search criteria (using a complex Filter on the Advanced tab of the Find panel, if you want).
Exactly which method is best depends on exactly what you want to do.
