In my folder formats search results (find, search, collections) it still allows for content formats to override it. Which is desired, but then I lose the original location column.
Is there a way for search results to allow for the content overrides but still have the location column always? And not have location column outside of search results?
Now the Images format isn't overriding my search results format.
In this example test it's 100% images but that didn't take. I have Images set to 65% threshold.
How can I make this happen? To have the location column on search results but keep the content overrides? I would want the search to provide all relevant columns according to the content but also a location column, but for search results specifically.
The change I mentioned shouldn't affect which format matches the results. You could try change it back to find out if I'm right, but if Content Type formats were being matched before they should still be matched now, unless I'm overlooking something.
I've just tried every way possible and double checked settings. I can't seem to get content formats to override any search results at all now. Is it just me or did they never do that? I remember that they did.
I see what's happening. When "clear previous results" is enabled it blocks the content overriding. So it made me second guess if it's happening at all. But content formats do override search formats (which is desired).
So I don't know what to ask. Except for it would be nice to have the location column on search result listers always, regardless of what content is in the search results. And the location column in no other listers.
To be clear the "Use columns from other matching formats" isn't working. (In case you thought it was)
So I have a dud Search system. Cause I can't see where the results are located when a content format overrides it, which is like 95% of the time. If I go and choose the 'None' format then it just goes to the Default format; again no location.
So this breaks the entire Find system. There's no point finding something if you don't know where it is after you've found it. I don't know why I'm the only one talking about this.
Your screenshot says it's using the Default Format for Find Results plus the Content Type Images.
If you aren't seeing the path column, it must not actually be present in your Find Results format (the one under Folder Type Formats in Preferences / Folders / Folder Formats).
No one else is talking about this because it's a specific to how you've configured things.
So now I don't know if the Find Panel : "clear search results" enabled blocks the format override either.
Include columns from other matching formats:
This is the third time I've tried enabling that setting and now it's finally working.
I'm not kidding. I'm not trying to waste my own time reporting false positives. It wasn't working before.
