You should be right, not so much different from the version, but rather the difference between Search and Find.
How can I use Find mode, hide any files that don't match, and the highlight text does not disappear? like this:

BTW, Search mode has a unique advantage, can search for text content, which is not available in Find mode, it is too useful.
The two modes are quite different.
Search mode is the equivalent of running a search from the toolbar field at the top-right of the window:
That's right, Search mode is more suitable for me, but it seems that Search mode is not stable. After I restored the system, the file name and content could not be found. It will take a while to work properly.
It uses Windows Search, which may need to rebuild its index after a system restore. You can see the indexing progress in the system Indexing Options dialog.
Thanks, I understand. Windows search can't search for text content, but Opus can.
Search mode can search text content very quickly, I like this feature too much, so I eliminated FileLocator, just like I eliminated WinRAR, Honeyview, and Windows Explorer, these are my favorite applications before. Now Opus can do a better job than those applications.
No matter how I set it up, I can't just type disk
to find CrystalDiskInfo8_1_0.exe
in Search mode, which doesn't seem quite normal.
I think that's just how Windows Search works, at least for filenames - it seems to only match the beginning of the names by default. If you type *disk
it finds both.
You are right, Windows Explorer is also the result. Type *
to first call out the filter, I can only type disk
first, then type *
at the beginning, and there is no highlighted disk
in the file name.
However, in the same configuration, type do
, opus
, install
, Opus can find DOpusInstall-Chinese.exe
.
I really can't figure out which is the operation of Windows, which is the operation of Opus itself in Opus. I always thought that the operations in Opus were OPus' own.
Windows Explorer can search for text content, and the results are the same as those of Opus. I didn't know it before.
Can you replace the Windows search with Opus' own? Just use Windows index data to search for file names and text content. Just like the current Search mode, Windows is too unreliable.
@Leo @Jon Thank you very much, you are really amazing.
Now I can find any files with Search and Find. The Find results disappear too quickly, and it's better that they disappear after a mouse click like a Search mode .
Increase Preferences / File Displays / FAYT and Filter Bar Keys / FAYT close timeout.
Thanks Leo, I knew it. I usually find out a lot of documents, I have to pick one by one, the length of the timeout is not easy to grasp.
