Select all using keyboard

Hi, I keep on getting a real irritating problem.
First off, I mostly use the keyboard to browse, but I get a constant reoccuring 'bug'.

Say, I go through the folders using the cursorkeys, I go inside a folder using the ENTER key, and then I immediately want to select everything in there by choosing SHIFT-DOWN, sometimes this works correctly, but most of the time the first 3-4-5 items get deselected and only everything below that gets highlighted. Is this a bug, or how can this behaviour be corrected ?
TIA!

Just to add, the actual selection begins at the position of the 'entered' directory in the previous action, really weird.

Any reason why you're not using Ctrl-A?

Well, I'm so used to it, that it goes automatically.

Just to show what happens exactly, I've uploaded a small AVI movie (only 70 k)
This GOT to be a bug.

I tried replicating your issue and choosing Shift-Down selects the next file (as I would expect it to).

My sorry, in the first post I made a writing mistake, it was indeed SHIFT-END that i meant but there was no edit button.

So, the case stays the same, doing SHIFT-END to select all files does not always sleect all files. Sorry

Confirmed, it's a bug in List mode. The start of the shift-select sequence when you enter a folder will be set to the previous cursor location before entering the folder.

I've reported it to GPSoft.

I am more and more amazed at the number of people using List mode.

Are you using v9.0.0.6? Shift-End always selects all the files for me, regardless of the position of the parent directory.

Thanks a lot nudel. I've never used anything else than the List mode, perfect for keyboard browsing. I'm just a bit shocked that nobody else ever found this bug, or am I the only one who thinks the keyboard is still leader when it comes to fast browsing. :frowning:

NeilN, Yes I'm using 9.0.0.6, I hope a new version will soon get rid of this, really irritating. Just like nudel told, file-selection only starts at the position the corresponding folder was.

Seems like the 9.0.0.7 update didn't catch it, nudel, do i have to fill a new support ticket or is the bug noted ? TIA!

Don't worry, the bug is noted. Coding on 9.0.0.7 was finished before this thread started.
