Selecting efficiently with shift?

From another filemanager, I am used to being able to hold down shift and then by navigating up and down, it will either select or deselect files as they're marked, depending on their previous state (basically, unselected files will be selected and selected files will be unselected). Piece of cake so far.

The joy I am missing is that I can then simply let go of shift and move up or down to other files I want to select, and the previously selected files still stay selected while I navigate! Unfortunately, in Dopus, I get stock explorer behavior which isn't very productive, because as soon as I let go of shift and move, everything is deselected.

I really like the described way of working, because it is incredibly fast and very keyboard friendly. I don't have to use the mouse at all for the selection process.

Does Dopus support a similar selection mechanism, and if so how do I go about enabling/using it?

Details mode follows the Windows standard and requires ctrl be held down to move the focus without changing the selection.
