Hello, I was using winrar previously to unpack archives and there was an option in it to set all extracted files to the current date. That was really useful to organize my files. Is there an easy way to set DO to work the same way when extracting archived zip/rar etc.. files ?
thank you
If you turn off Preferences / File Operations / Copy Attributes / Preserve the timestamps of copied files it will have that effect, but for all file copies not just ones from archives.
If you only want it to happen when copying out of archives, that should be possible but is a bit more fiddly to set up, and depends on which method(s) you will be using to extract the files, since individual commands behind those methods would need to be adjusted.
I would prefer if it was just for archives like zip and rar.
Which method(s) do you use to extract the files? (e.g. Right-click, Extract Here)
I love how DO handles archives seamlessly I just double click on the archive then select the file then copy and paste to destination.
I don't think timestamp preservation can be turned on/off per-command when using clipboard copy and paste, so the Preferences setting would be the only way to do that.
OTOH if you use the Copy Files button on the toolbar, or drag & drop, to copy from one file display to another then those can be made to override the Preferences setting.
