Is it possible to have Opus display an icon for a shared folder such as explorer does; folder sitting in a hand?
Opus should do that automatically. Refresh the folder if it's only just been shared and the icon hasn't changed yet (though that should be automatic as well).
I have tried a few things to get this to work. Doing a vanilla install of Opus displays the shared folder icon as it should. However, when I load my saved preferences the shared folder icon does not display in the lister anymore, so it's obviously something to do with my settings. Wish I could find out which one has affected it though!
Any ideas on what might do this?
Good catch! I didn't realise that either.
In light of that I think the option should be renamed and moved to somewhere else. I've added this to the list of suggestions for a Preferences Tidy-Up (presumably in the next major version of Opus) that I'm maintaining here:
Interesting... this has also bitten me in a different way.
I've been looking at an issue for a co-worker where we've had some difficulty with some tools we're using in a data migration and couldn't quickly tell what was happening. Why were we having problems with "certain" folders etc...
The details of the problem aren't important so much as, I didn't tumble to what was "different" about the problematic folders until I saw a screenshot of the other persons view from Windows Explorer... at which point two things popped out:
- The folder had the "Offline" icon
- The folder had the "O" attribute in the Attributes column
So the distinct icon wasn't visible in Opus for the same reason as the hand / shared folder icon mentioned here (i.e. 'show arrow overlaid on icon' was DISABLED).
However that plays out (and I imagine Opus "should" be able to still whack the arrow overlay without affecting the other special folder overlays - at least Explorer with help from TweakUI seems to be able to)... but I'd have hoped Opus would report the "O" flag in it's Attributes column for compatability with Exploder...
