I am having the same problem as at least one other user: Slow FTP. I saw Leo's response to that service request and have tried to provide the comparison information that he asked for. I am comparing DirOpus FTP to Filezilla. I have done tests of the two clients a few minutes apart, from the same computer. Opus is MUCH slower - hours slower for big (700 meg) files.
I am using SFTP in both clients. I am connecting to the same site (Just Host), and have tried transferring the same file. Well, I did not let Opus FTP complete during the trial, but I started the same file on Opus as I uploaded with Filezilla.
I love Opus and find its interface much easier to use, so I would like to get this problem solved.
I hate to bump such an old thread, but I couldn't find any newer threads regarding this issue.
I'm experiencing the same thing. In Directory Opus, I get 750 KB/sec, while in Filezilla I get 3.6 MB/sec to the same server from the same computer. (No, I'm not confusing bits with bytes, those are both in bytes. DOpus takes 15-20 minutes for the same file that Filezilla does in less than 5.) I'm also using SFTP for both connections. I let DOpus run for over an hour to see if it was a fluke, but it consistently got the same slow speed the whole time. I verified there is no speed limit set in my DOpus config.
Sadly i have to chime in as well. I've gotten a Macbook a while back and just noticed the other day that my Mac is way faster on the same FTP than DOpus is. Which lead me to try out Filezilla on Windows. I was flabbergasted how much faster it was in comparison to DOpus.
I too would like to see this solved.
