Slow shared folders in virtual machine

Hi,

I was struggling for months with extremely slow responses when accessing shared folders inside a Vmware Virtual Machine (host = XP, guest = XP and Windows7), tried changing all possible settings in VMware, until my brain entered the running state and I decided to see if this would also happen if I used Windows Explorer inside these Virtual Machines, and after all these months I saw that browsing these shared folders using Windows Explorer go as fast as they should be.

So the problem of my slow responding shared folder browsing is from Directory Opus.

Any idea how I could solve this please, or other people suffering the same slow responses with shared folders in virtual machines ?

Could you show a screenshot of one of the slow folders?

At a basic level, Opus just asks the OS for the directory listings, so it shouldn't be any slower than Explorer at that, but you may have Opus configured to do things which require it to open and inspect some or all of the files in the folders, which will slow things down if there's limited bandwidth or the network filesystem is simply slow.
