when syncing data to some external device, USB disk or stick, the time stamp will have an aberrance of (plus) 2 seconds. This leads to the effect, that, in case of conversely syncing from external drives, Opus asks whether the files are to be updated. It does so, because the files seem not to be identical, although they´re supposed to be.
You can turn on the 'ignore seconds' option to get around this problem. FAT/FAT32 devices only store the time stamp to a resolution of 2 seconds, where as NTFS stores to the nearest millisecond or better.
i was translating a bit for my colleagues at H&P Forum. This issue was rather regarding the "update all" function, which is also some kind of syncing.
The effect is simililar, though. In this case all files with that 2 seconds off will be recognized as newer ones, thus they will be handled wrongly. In this case the mentioned checkbox (ignore seconds) won´t be available. I´d suggest this to be fixed, since it happens quite often. Thank you.
Ah, sounds interesting. I´ll instantly forward that hint, sound like a general solution to all FAT based time deviations, that could occur in syncing actions. Thx a lot!
