Rarely, column auto-size fails. I wish I had more info for you on when and why it happens...
- when the size of a file changes from KB to bytes it can get it wrong:
(Please note that auto-size works for me more than 99.99% of the time. This is not an options thing that I have messed up. What I am posting about is probably small errors in code for calculation of the ... and the absolutely horrible world of inaccurate font file metrics -- I am looking at you arial.ttf)

This looks deliberate, maybe we could have a separate option for sticking to auto-size in the rename dialog.
