Sorting by name, manual sorting

Hello,

I have a folder with Manual Sorting consisting of two subfolders.

How can I set Sorting by Name in those subfolders without changing the sorting in the main folder?

Now, when I set Sorting by Name in the subfolders, the main folder changes its sorting from Manual to Name automatically.

How are you doing that? It should normally only affect the folder you do it in, not the parent as well.

It seems, I've found the solution. BUT I have another problem:
When I set Details view in the subfolders, the main folder changes its view from Tiles to Details automatically.

How are you making that change?

Have you closed the window and opened a fresh one to test in after making the change? This is important, since changes made in the window itself will carry over to similar folders. (See the folder formats FAQs for detailed explanation.)
