I use Lightroom to import images from my card reader. Every time I insert a card into the reader, Opus opens up and I don't need it. It is an annoyance. How do I stop Opus from opening up a window when a card is inserted into the reader.

You should be able to stop this using the AutoPlay control panel.
Adding to what Jon said, it isn't Opus that triggers the window to open. Something else (AutoPlay) is telling Opus to open the window because Opus is the default folder handler.
(If you turn off Explorer Replacement mode then Explorer will open instead.)
