Hi all,
I would like to make some suggestion in order to make this fabulous tool, DOpus as accessible as possible for blinds as me ...
First I tried to tweak abit the gui changing colors, removing some visual effects.
IT was very helpful but far from perfect as apparently, someone could correct me if I'm wrong, DOpus extensively use custom controls.
One thing for example I am currently completely unable to see and manage is the state of checkboxes as in the view menu.
What could be done from a development standpoint to improve this ?
I think that first, implementing a bit of Microsoft Active Accessibility could probably greately reduce this kind of issues...
Another thing I noticed is the extensive use of drag and drop.
In fact, even if this is very common to use for sighted folks which work mostly with their mouse, this kind of operation is very difficult to operate for a blind with a screen reader who's mainly using the keyboard.
So I still have a suggestion there ...
In the customize mode dialog box for example where Drag and drop is heavily used, could it be possible on the menu bar, beside the file menu, to have an edit one gathering the most used actions to manage items such as Cut/copy/past/Undo ...
And in order to help you understand what I'm explaining here, what about downloading a demo of JAWS for example, available at freedomscientific.com in order to take a look and see the problems I'm encountering and perhaps findding a solution for solving them ...
