I sync between two computers and a flash drive to move files between them. This morning, every time I try to sync from the flash drive F:\ to my main drive C:, the from panel switches from F:\ to E:, which is an internal drive containing other data. This happens regardless of which directories I am trying to sync. I am able to read the F:\drive in Opus without any problem, so the problem appears to be with this instance of Opus, not the drive. Rebooting and restarting Opus does nothing.
I just tried synching the other direction, and again, F:\ changes to E:\
Thanks for the quick reply. No, I don't have paired folders set. Also, this happens with two different pairs, e.g., F:\mydata => C:\mydata and F:\other => C:\other. And it also happens with both pairs in the other direction. So it's not defaulting to one pair. However, it always goes from whatever directory I have on the thumb drive F:\ to a SPECIFIC folder on the internal second drive, E:.
I just installed the current version again over the existing instance. Now instead of switching the F:\ directory to E:, it switches the C:\ directory in the sync-to panel.
I also manually put the correct path in the bottom sync panel. It leaves it as is but actually places E:\ in the directory tree.
As one more test, I put the E:\photos drive in the from tree and tried to sync to another external drive, G:, which is where I always sync backup copies of my photos. Opus switched G:\photos to E:\photos and tried to sync E:\photos to itself.
Given how I work, this is really crippling. I depend heavily on Opus to sync among drives.
The sync panel's destination folder probably wasn't linked to the file display. There's a toggle button/icon on the right of the two path fields for that, if it happens again.
(Some people always want to sync to a specific destination without worrying about which folder is in the other file display, so it lets them do that. Same can be done with the source path.)
