I wish to be able to apply command sets to the right lister if in a dual lister layout eg.
Imagine I wish to go up a directory on the right hand side
The left hand is Go UP but how to do I make GO UP work on the right lister. Same applies for listers etc. I envisage almost creating a toolbar of common functions and having a spacer in the middle to denotre right and left hand side.
"Any reason you don't want to use the parent buttons in the file display border instead?"
Most probably force of habit.
However imagine, traversing directories in comparison mode. I have a number of file servers that work on DFS. For some reason, twenty plus times a day we seem to be comparing directory contents against each other (ie. 30 directories a time). Having the buttons side by side would make life easier when comparing, as mentioned the ability to place a filter against two directories on a pane would make life easier immensely.
You are correct about saying in the file display, but since I'm working in the toolbar area, moving 50 pixels up and down, seems to get to me, after the upteenth time......
Food for thought...
As years progress, it seems my patience is inversely proportional with my age..
