Text Viewer Plugin Configuration

With the initial setup of DOpus, if you go to see what a text file has. e.g. subtitle file (.srt)
then it is likely that the Greek translation characters will be shown as clown characters.
The reason is that they are not encoded as UTF-8 without BOM which is the standard configuration but are for example in ANSI Greek (1253).
To fix this we go :

Tab SETTINGS >>
Preferences >>
Viewer >>
Plugins >>
Find the Text Plugin, (it's probably at the bottom of the plugins list)
and click on the gear on the right of it.
Then a popup window opens which is
Text Viewer Plugin Configuration
There are two options with the ability to tick a box.
The first one is "Assume UTF-8 without BOM" and has a Tick in its checkbox.
We click the mouse and the Tick goes away.

We save the change we made and return to the Viewer pane.
Now the Text Viewer can show many character code pages including the
ANSI Greek (1253).

It might make more sense to convert the srt file to utf-8, else you're going to make other files that aren't in ANSI Greek look incorrect.

Everything new should be using Unicode these days, although there are of course lots of old files out there in other codepages.
