The "filter as you type" box at the bottom of the lister

I use wildcards every day to filter and select my files.

But sometimes I want to refilter the filtered results several times to narrow down on a specific set of files

Any way to keep the box from disappearing after just a few seconds?

I'd like to change it to stay open about a minute or two.

I don't think you can change the timeout on that particular box; it's meant to be temporary.

However, did you know you can add filter boxes to your toolbar so that they are always visible? That would probably be better if you want to re-filter a lot.
