On both Windows 7 and Windows 10, running the attached .reg file causes Recycle Bin to be added to Computer/This PC in Explorer. On Windows 7, it also shows up in Computer in Opus. On Windows 10, it does not show up in This PC in Opus.

Recycle Bin belongs under Desktop, not This PC.
If you turn off Preferences / Folders / Virtual Folders / Native display of 'Computer' (which I suspect you've already done on your Windows 7 machine), then the registry setting should work the same in Opus as it does in Explorer, since Opus will then delegate the folder to Explorer.
No, ... Native display of 'Computer' is checked on Windows 7 and probably on Windows 10 since I restored the configuration from Windows 7 there, but I'm not in a position to verify that right now.
If the implication is that the Windows 7 behavior shouldn't be expected, fine.
There is a difference between how Opus's native computer view works from Windows 8.1 onwards.
Microsoft polluted the My Computer (aka This PC) view with a load of unwanted folders in Windows 8.1, so we filter them out. The "Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace" registry setting adds Recycle Bin via the same mechanism, and it points to a folder, so it's also filtered out.
If you turn off the native view option, you'll get whatever you see in Explorer.
OK, thanks. I'll try native display off, but will probably decide to get along without the display of Recycle Bin which I don't use often anyway.
Not terribly relevant to Opus, but regarding pollution of My Computer/This PC with unwanted folders, yes, I came across that also and removed the unwanted folders from explorer via another registry modification so I could create a sensible This PC toolbar on the Windows taskbar.
