Thumbnail style performance and technical inquiry

Good afternoon everyone,

I have many folders using custom folder icons. My question is, would switching these over to simply using a png file in the folder as the icon / thumbnail via DOPUS styles have a significant impact on performance? The styles would be using 256 x 256 sized images while the icon files contain a variety of icon sizes from 256x256 all the way down to 32x32. I'm not sure if DOPUS does some sort of resizing or caching of style thumbnails or if there is some sort of performance penalty of styles over using custom icons. I just want to make sure before I go though and make the change over.

Thumbnail styles are so much easier to use than Shell Icons and windows keeps forgetting my shell icons which is a massive pain.

Thank you for your assistance!

Best regards,

It should perform about the same, I think. Loading a custom icon and loading a small PNG are very similar operations, performance-wise.
