Hi guys,
I am viewing a load of images in thumbnails mode which I need manually arrange for one reason or another. Is there any way I can switch off "auto arrange" like windows explorer...?

Ignore this... it can't be done.
No, it can't be done (look here for example: [Custom sorting?) )
But you could make a toolbar or context menu which has all the sort options you want (perhaps useful for others): [Keep the sort by name/size/date etc bar with thumbnails)

Perhaps I should have explained what I wanted to achieve... I have a number of images (aerial photography) which I view in thumbnails mode and arrange (like a jigsaw puzzle) to see if I have any parts missing. I realise I can load them into CAD/3DS Max or whatever but this takes time. It's much quicker to manually sort them to see which parts are missing in windows explorer.
