Trouble with simple file find

I'm trying a simple "find file with indicated text" but I'm clearly doing something wrong. I've included an image of the screen that's relevant. There is one .pas file in the indicated folder and it definitely has the string "end." But I get no results. I've tried several variations of the settings indicated in the image above but all give the same result - nothing.

In the name field you have *.pas but wildcards is turned off.

Yeah. I tried it with Wildcards checked both before and just now and the result is the same - i.e. no result.

Here's the path I'm searching...

and the end of the file with the string...

That file isn't on your local machine, which is probably why its contents cannot be searched.

You might be able to use Windows Search (via the search field at the top-right of the lister, instead of the Find panel) to search the contents of offline files, but I'm not sure if that works or not (it's up to Windows Search; we just feed the query to the OS and display the results).

I keep most all of the files I work with on Dropbox. I was able to display the files using DO (see folder list above) but you're suggesting I won't be able to use any of the nice features of DO such as find, advanced renaming, synchronize, etc on my Dropbox folders?

When the Availability column shows "Available when online" as in your screenshot above, this means the that there is no local copy of the file - it only exists in the cloud. It will be downloaded automatically if you try to open it, and a filename search would be able to find it, but its contents can't be searched remotely.

I hadn't noticed that column ("Available when online"). Hmmm. Interesting problem. Thanks all. Oh, I did move the folder to a local directory and the search worked as expected.

You can right click the files to tell OneDrive you want local copies of them. No need to copy them to a second location.
