This used to work, but now it doesn't. My default lister keeps reverting to old lister when I try to change. I actually get this error message when I go into "folder formats" (error message reads: "the properties for this item are not available). Any help would be appreciated!
You'd normally use Settings > Set As Default Lister, rather than Folder Formats. (Depending on what you're aiming to save.)
But it looks like Properties is being opened for something (and Windows is reporting an error as it doesn't support a Properties dialog for that thing), rather than Folder Formats? Which menu item are you using that results in that error message?
Hi Leo,
I no longer see the "set as default lister" option. Before this, I had it, but I can't find it now. Has it been moved? There is a "set lister defaults" option, but when i click on it, I still don't see a "set as default lister".
Thank you
Does Prefs SETDEFAULTLISTER work directly, from the command line?
Are you actually using Opus 12 as indicated in the thread title or Opus 13?
I think "set lister defaults" is new in 13, but if you click it, you should get a choice to save the default lister .
It looks like you're using Opus 13's menus in Opus 12, so a bunch of the menu items won't work. (E.g. "Install Script" and "Dark Mode".)
But "Set Lister Defaults" in your menu and should work and runs the same command as "Set as Default Lister" used to, so you can use that. (The name changed in Opus 13, since the command now lets you do more than before.)
How did I end up with dopus 13 menus? I did try the trial, but then reverted to my old 12 after the trial was finished. Do i need to completely uninstall and reinstall dopus 12?
Thank you
When you install Opus 13 it will upgrade your toolbars if they appear to never have been modified.
Going back to 12 won't reverse that, which is why we always recommend making a config backup first so that you can go back if you need to.
But if your menus were never modified anyway then in Opus 12 you can factory reset them easily enough (right-click on a blank spot on each toolbar and choose the 'Factory Reset' command).
just reset it. Thank you all for your help!!!
