I am trying to view the 1,000 event undo log file but when I go to the undo log in the utility panel the export log file disk icon is ghosted. Any ideas why?
Opus v10.5
Thanks
There isn't a disk icon when viewing the Undo Log. The button on the left should be a blue arrow and is there to let you undo the selected action (and will be disabled if no action is selected).
On the File Log (different to the Undo Log, but similar information), there is a "Save" disk icon on the left which should let you save that log's data to a text file.
Ah there it is, I must have misread the directions on how to export the log.
Thank you.
I wanted to look at the log file because I saw a dll file in the root of my storage HD and wondered how it got there. Unfortunately the log file was not helpful. When I looked up the setting for logging functions I was shocked to see how little is logged by default. No all copy/move functions? No new folder? No rename? You would think that the log file would have as default all the functions that are displayed in the undo log of the utility panel.
Oh well
You can change the defaults if you don't like them. The more detail, the less time the logs span, since they are trimmed to avoid growing forever. It's a trade-off (and most software doesn't create such logs at all, let alone allow you to configure how much detail is included).
The DLL may not have been put there using Opus at all, of course.
Leo, I -know- I can change the defaults and I know it is my fault for not checking but I find it silly that the defaults do not match the log level of the utility panel.
