Unlinking Tab Icons and their corresponding Folder Icons

I have a tabbed Opus environment where each tab contains both a Label and an Icon (see attachment). This works well since having a label and icon together increases the speed of tab recognition, and enhances the aesthetics.

The problem with this configuration however is that each tab is connected to a specific folder, and the connected folder seems to be forced to use and display the same icon that the tab is using, as though they are 'hard linked' together.

The tab icon and its corresponding folder icon can't be unlinked. If a tab uses an icon, the corresponding folder is not only forced to use that specific icon, it's also forced to display it. As in the attached screen image, this situation can result in a messy-looking (imho), inconsistent folder listing.

In the attached image example, I'd like all of the folders in the lister to use the default folder icon. Unfortunately, resetting these folder icons to default also resets their corresponding label icons to default (and vice versa).

A similar issue occurs between folders and corresponding items in the favourites listing.

Is there some sort of workaround for this issue, or should I deal with it as an 'icon unlinking' feature request?

Thanks

No way to change that. Tabs show the icons of the folders they are displaying. (That's all the tab icons are meant to do.)
