Updated files show as duplicate until folder refreshed

When a document of any type is updated in the software (word, excel, etc.), then saved, the updated file is displayed in dopus as a duplicate until the folder is refreshed. This happens regardless of how the document is opened (from word, explorer or dopus) and the problem is not duplicated in explorer - I've tested this by having the folder visible in both dopus and explorer when the file is saved. It is more pronounced the deeper into the folder structure you go. It doesn't happen on top level folders. I have dopus on two win 10 machines. This issue only affects one of them. I have read the post about folder refresh problems. It wasn't helpful in this case.

Any help would be welcome. Thank you.

Are you seeing this only in Library folders?

Right-click the library itself, choose properties, and make sure it does not have the same folder two or more times in its list of folders.

Well, that seems to have fixed it. Thank you.

Do you know or have any theories about how the library ended up with the same folder twice?

This has happened to a couple of people over the years, but we don't know what causes it.

We'd like to make Opus able to deal with the situation better, but don't know how to create the situation to test what happens.

Normally, Windows will not allow you to add the same path to a library twice. Maybe there is a way to trick it, such as renaming a folder after it is added, or using an alternative path to get to the same folder (e.g. via links or junctions)? Any ideas that we can try?

Something to do with moving the default Documents, Music, etc. folders to another drive, maybe?

In my case, it could be that I have configured the documents folder to be on drive e: but there is still a remnant of it on drive c: This is the way Windows 10 works if you want your data on a different partition. Not my first choice but it was easier to set up than the alternative methods that are out there.

I'm not sure why it only recently became a problem though. I've had this set-up for a while without any issue. In resolving this, I also configured my 'Favorites' for this folder to point directly to the folder rather than point to the library/folder. But even if I do use the Library/folder route, it still works correctly now.
