I would like to re-use the system's info tip for image files, as I installed PixVue, which adds IPTC tags in Explorer's balloon tips.
If I redefine the tooltip using {infotip}, DOpus doesn't show the system-provided InfoTip (as described in the help file), but rather "Contains letters, reports and other documents and files" (in French), regardless of the DOpus's language and regardless of the file type.
I do not quite understand your question, but if you are asking how to set up an infotip for images, instead of setting up the infotip for the jpg filetype (or whatever image format you're using) try configuring your infotip in the images file type group.
That's where you put the {infotip} field - it's the last option on the Insert Field button. Instead of showing the same balloon you see in Explorer, it rather shows a generic message.
It seems like you're using the {infotip} control properly... but it sounds like it's simply not pulling the info properly from the system. Maybe bug, maybe incompatibility with whatever PixVue puts in place.
Out of curiosity... what happens if you simply leave the entire Info Tip page empty for the 'Images' file type?
Actually, I first tried that for images, but as I said in the beginning, this behaviour appears regardless of the file type (image, audio, any file type), when I use {infotip} instead.
If the Info Tip tab is empty or if I disable it, the balloon only shows basic information: file type, date, size.
The question is: does anyone sucessfully use {infotip} somewhere?
I'm pretty much a relative beginner, but I like to display information by an audio-related tool for 'music' files, so yes, I use {infotip} to display that, and also include the information DOpus supplies for the same type files. It works fine here.
