Greg suggested I post my question here even though I am a registered user.
There are many finesses in Opus which I haven't got to grips yet. However, I want a basic function where I can access thru tabs or some other smart function a rnage of folders on myt hardisk.
It seems are dynamic and always chnaging. So i guess I wantr a solution where tabs remain in place an give me the access I want.
User users must have had simialr needs, so would appreciate you sahring your ideas.
With all due respect to the providers of documentation, from my perspective it doesn't address my needs as a non-tech users.
A section showing working scenarios and how this could benefit non-tech oriented users such as myself, would be very welcome!

Well you can already do that. You can open all that tabs you like in both lister sides, save them both (klick near tab -> groups -> save), let´s say, saveing left side tab groups as "left01", right side tabs as "right01", then making a new button with:
Go TABGROUPLOAD=left01 OPENINLEFT
Go TABGROUPLOAD=right01 OPENINRIGHT
Every time, you maybe changed the location within the tabs or closed some, you can reset all tabs to that basic set you´ve saved by one click.
I use this with different sets of tabs, which is very handy.
You can also lock tabs so that they cannot be changed, or so that they can be changed by will revert back to their original folder the next time you click on the tab itself. To do this, right-click the tab's icon (not the label, the icon; tabs have two different context menus, depending on where you click).
If you want examples then see the Tutorials forum, but Opus does so much that you may not find a tutorial on everything that you might want to do.

Thanks Abr!
I am slowly getting to grips with this, but for the life of me can't see how or where I can set up tabs on the left and right of a lister?
What I am doing is making a folder with shortcuts in to try to acheive the same results, but I am sure the left and right tab groups would be better.
I guess I just want static tabs that stay put . Would be nice if you coulkd setr a lister to be purely static i.e. all tbas stay in the same place.

Abr's suggestion was to use two tab groups and a command which opens one group on the left and the other group on the right.
You could also use a lister Style or a lister Layout to do this instead, and not use Tab Grops at all. Using a Style is probably the most suitable and easy to look after.
I don't think it's very clear 'exactly' what you want to do... nudel and abr both seem to have interpreted slightly different meaning out of your questions.
Your last comments about keeping a folder with shortcuts in them make it seem like you want something closer to what abr suggested... you're saying that you want some way to click on 'something' (a shortcut, a button, a tab??) that will then open a particular folder right? Or are you saying you always want a set of 10 or 15 particular folders 'already' open when you start a new lister. The word 'tab' has a few meanings in Opus depending on which part of the lister you're referring to...
I ask because in your opening post, you also mentioned "It seems are dynamic and always chnaging. So i guess I wantr a solution where tabs remain in place an give me the access I want." but I don't understand what part of Opus you're talking about... Perhaps you're referring to the folder that is displayed each time you open a new lister being dynamically set to the folder that was open on the last lister that was closed? If so, that's easy enough to change.
Which scenario best fits what you are looking for?
