Hi,

  1. May I ask what does this icon (like a hyperlink icon) represent?

  2. What does it do?
  3. How can I manually set it to hide or show?

It indicates that the two tabs are linked. When two tabs are linked, selecting one in the Lister to make it active automatically activates the linked tab too.

Right-click the tab and use the Link Tab sub-menu to link or unlink tabs.
