Why does the list need an F5?

When I open a new instance of Directory Opus (be that a local or an FTP connection), DO does not show the objects in the the directory shown by default. I need to refresh the display (with F5) for files and subdirectories to show. Why is this? Is there a way to kick start the listing? Thanks in advance for your help.

You're talking about objects that already existed before opening the window, right? Or do you mean you have to refresh to see changes?

I'm talking about objects that already exist.

Strange. The only thing that comes to mind is some kind of filter being applied but I can't think of any type of filter which would be cleared by the F5 key (assuming your F5 is doing the default "Go REFRESH").
